Emi Ruff (she/her) is a freelance writer, photographer, and tech researcher, interested in the queer & feminine experience and information-based political economics. Her first novel, Palo Alto, Babe, is a society novel set in Silicon Valley, exploring fate and free will through a queer & feminine reworking of the classic affair plot. She is actively seeking representation for this and future works.
Previously, Emi worked in the tech industry, including as the Chief of Staff, Federal Policy at Amazon and on the Privacy and Civil Liberties team at Palantir. Off the clock, she spent almost a decade doing improv and stand-up comedy in DC and NYC, traveling through Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Europe (with many more places to experience remaining), and tramping around the Appalachians. She holds undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Creative Writing from The American University. A Detroit(ish) native, she has also made her homes in Washington, DC and the United Kingdom.
